Basically, below is a funny stickman video which illustrates on how a girl and a guy come together as a couple, get married and continue with their life until they die.
This video clearly illustrates the 5 steps:
Step 1: Initiating
"some girl" initiates the start of the relationship with "some guy".
Step 2: Experimenting
Since "some guy" is 2 years older than "some girl", they concluded that they have the same level of attractiveness. And so, they've begun the typical relationship.
Step 3: Intensifying
They started engaging in sex, going to the movies and concerts, get into fights and make up, then go camping.
Step 4: Integrating
They the cohabit together for a year and attends a memorial day barbeque at "some girl's" parent's house.
Step 5: Bonding
And now, they decide to get married. Where "some boy" kneels down to propose to "some girl" on new year's eve instead of putting the ring in "some girl's" wine glass or getting a sports mascot to bring it to her at a game. After a year of her wedding, they decides to buy a house and when she has nothing to talk to her friends anymore, they'll decide to have children.
The video just continues until both "some boy" and "some girl" dies.
I think the video is hilarious. Where it just shows technically how people just come together, get married, settles down and continue with their life. And I really do agree that's how things will end up to be. Most of the times things are so technical and boring. People come together because it's just part and parcel in life that when you reach a stage, you should get married.
I know that situations aren't all the same in current day context since many don't get married nowadays but cohabit for life or until they decide to part.
a hilarious parody! but it's an accurate depiction of how relationships are formed. Nowadays we do get cases that break the mould - marriages of convenience or pre-arranged nuptials that still occur in more traditional cultures in the world. globalisation is taking its toll, though, so it's just a matter of time that we see a universal model of relational development.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with commsboy, this is an accurate depiction of how modern relationships are formed. Isn't it great that now both men and women have the luxury to choose whom they want to live with for the rest of their lives. Who else could depict Mr. Right or Ms. Fabulous for us other than ourselves. All in all some traditions should be kept alive while others should simply die off.
ReplyDeleteThen again, these modern day relationships somehow increases the number of break-ups or divorces compared to the past. Therefore, is it a good thing to choose your boyfriends/girlfriends, husbands/wives? Even though there wasn't a decision for many couples in the past and relationships or marriages were prearranged by the elders, things worked out perfectly fine and many were able to live together peacefully. So, is the benefit of choosing a good thing?
ReplyDeleteIs this how women think!! scary....but funny in a way...still....scary. I think i would break it off after the intensifying stage...she's just way to dominating.give a guy some space!! hehehe
ReplyDeleteSeems like cohabitation IS the way to go for many couples! Those stories about people who live together for years and years on end before deciding to get legally married.. if they even tie the knot ultimately, haha!
ReplyDeletehahaha. I don't think all women think this way justin. I guess they're are just dramatizing the clip. But certainly it's really funny. Especially when the guy in the clip doesn't seem to have any say with his life. And just marries the girl and follow as plan.
ReplyDeleteThen again, cohabitation seem to get rid of marriage. Like getting rid of the legal contract of bounding 2 together. Many who has cohabit seems to disapprove of a marriage since they feel that they are happy with where they are now. I don't know. Would you cohabit and still get married? Or would you rather to remain cohabiting with no strings attach?
ReplyDeletehahaha! this is really hilarious. with the way the clip portrays of the girl being overbearing, leading and showing the stages of a relationship. well, i don't see why cohabiting is a bad idea, it gives couples a period of time to understand each other's living habits better and allow them to be more prepared with marriage.
ReplyDeleteWell, i guess so. Cohabitation doesn't seem such a bad idea in this way. Plus, i think when you're in a relationship, you're very much in love with your boyfriend/girlfriend, thus wanting to spend every single minute with him/her. But, doesn't distance make the heart grow fonder? hahaha.
ReplyDeletehaha! anyway some couples like to stick together like super glue. They just have to see each other every day. So maybe that why they opt to cohabit. hahaha!
ReplyDeleteProbably! It just saves them on traveling time and transportation fares since they'll just have to open their eyes now and find their partner sleeping beside them.
ReplyDeleteToo bad I missed what seems to be a hilarious video! But judging from the description, I guess it depicts accurately how relationships are formed!
